WordPress Full-Stack Developer

Location: Remote (Home base in West Palm Beach, Florida, USA) Employment Type: Full time Product: Product team

Description

As a WordPress Developer at WPForms, you'll work on a diverse team that builds & supports a wide range of websites. The role requires experience in eCommerce and multiple payment gateways, with a focus on troubleshooting payment and subscription issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Building scalable, secure, and high-performing WordPress websites.
  • Extending product functionality using cloud technologies based in PHP and JavaScript.
  • Sharing ownership of website projects and collaborating on technical solutions.
  • Supporting ancillary installations and technologies beyond WordPress.
  • Maintaining and extending existing functionality, optimizing performance, and securing the codebase.
  • Testing your own work and contributing to peer reviews.

The role suits developers with strong WordPress architecture knowledge who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about clean, efficient code.

Requirements

  • Extremely familiar with WordPress and its idiosyncrasies.
  • Experience leveraging and integrating with 3rd Party APIs.
  • Coding with modern PHP practices (OOP, autoloading, namespacing, traits, interfaces).
  • JavaScript experience (vanilla JS, jQuery, ES6).
  • Familiarity with package managers (Composer & NPM).
  • Excellent attention to detail in HTML & CSS/SCSS for great looking sites.
  • Branching & merging workflows using git & Github.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Co-Pilot) as part of daily routine.
  • WordPress eCommerce experience.
  • eCommerce payment experience including Stripe and/or PayPal.
  • Comfortable writing performant SQL queries for MySQL.
  • WP-CLI proficiency and Linux/Shell scripting skills for occasional DevOps tasks.
  • Curious mindset and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to learn.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience creating custom blocks for the Gutenberg editor.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems.
